Entertainment Public Relations Assistant
This will be an on-site position at our office space in West Hollywood, California
Full vaccination is required for this position
We are a boutique Los Angeles-based Entertainment PR Agency that is seeking a motivated, experienced self-starter with 1-2 years full-time in-house agency experience in Public Relations to join our small yet hardworking team as an Assistant.
Hours:
9:00 am-6:00 pm Monday-Friday with some nights and weekends for event coverage as needed
Job Duties
-Assist CEO and Chief Operating Officer with coordinating their schedules and performing essential tasks necessary for seamless day-to-day operations of the company
-Drafting and updating materials including: bios, press releases and pitches, spreadsheets, contact lists, etc.
-Extensive pitching of agency clients for print, online, and on-camera press opportunities
-Covering events: photoshoots, red carpets, interviews etc.
-Creating call sheets and itineraries for clients
-Editing and sending in written press interviews for clients
-Creating Press Clippings and Electronic Press Kits
-Assist with maintaining office calendar
-Researching press outlets and events
-Finding contacts for media outlets and events
-Selection and Supervision of Interns
-Social Media: Updating our X, Facebook, and Instagram pages on a daily basis
-Other duties as assigned by CEO and Chief Operating Officer
The ideal candidate must:
-Understand that Public Relations is not just a 9:00 am-6:00 pm job and work outside of office hours may be required
-Have at least 1-2 years full-time in-house agency experience in Public Relations
-Hold a degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, Journalism, or a related field
-Have experience assisting with red carpets/events
-Have a great work ethic and willingness to exceed client expectations
-Be extremely detail-oriented
-Be a good problem-solver
-Be able to balance multiple time-sensitive tasks at once
-Enjoy interacting with clients and attending red carpet events
-Have working laptop and cell phone. Mac preferred.
-Be proficient in posting on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram)
-Have excellent phone and email etiquette for communication with clients and high-level business associates
-Have exemplary writing and copy editing skills
-Have exemplary research skills
-Be able to work independently both in and outside of the office environment.
