Job Description: We're currently seeking interns for the Acquisitions & Development departments that has a desire to learn the innerworkings of an independent movie distributor and sales agent. Candidates will be exposed to a bustling film distribution environment and will be working on evaluating scripts, cast, developing IP internally, and tracking finished films. Along with the Highland team, you will work in concert with our production, financing and digital platform partners to assist in bringing film product through the financing and distribution pipelines.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, energetic, detail-oriented, self-sufficient, and hard-working. This is an ideal entry-level job for someone looking to enter the movie industry.
Responsibilities Include:
· Reading/Covering scripts
· Sitting in on development meetings
· Acquisitions conference calls
· Helping the team prepare for markets
· Keep the Acquisitions/Development team organized
· Interns will have the opportunity to explore a multitude of different departments
· Helping to write synopses for all our titles
· Reaching out to agencies for cast availabilities
· Assisting in the preparation of HFG events (film markets, screenings, parties…)
· Ensuring that daily Development/Acquisitions operations run smoothly.
Requirements Include:
· Proficiency in MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint and Word
· Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat
· Good verbal and written skills
· Good multitasking and organization skills
· Prior experience in the movie industry is a plus
· Must LOVE movies or entertainment!

This internship is based in Los Angeles (6310 San Vicente Blvd, 90048) but available remotely.
Salary: Unpaid, College Credit
Interns can work a minimum of 15 hours/week and up to a maximum of 32 hours/week.
