Job Title: Producer for True Crime Show and Podcast
Job Overview: We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Producer to join our team and take charge of content sourcing, production management, and strategic episode planning for our true crime series. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in media production and a passion for storytelling, ensuring high-quality audio and video episodes that resonate with our audience.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Development
Case Sourcing and Research: Collaborate with the Head of Writers to identify and conduct initial research on potential cases for future episodes.
Greenlighting Cases: Approve cases for production, collaborating with the Head of Writers to assign and prioritize cases.
Beat Sheets and Episode Flow: Create beat sheets and episode flow guides that outline key elements and structure for each episode. Determine needs for interviews and spearhead outreach to schedule interviews accordingly. Use interview excerpts and strategically place within the episode before final script approval and recording.
Script Management
Script Collaboration: Work closely with the Head of Writers on final script approval, ensuring all scripts meet quality standards and narrative flow.
Script Delivery: Send the final script for recording, ensuring clarity and completeness.
Production Review
Content Management: Manage all aspects of content production by parenting with the video editing department. Including but not limited to additional media insertion, scoring, and editing, to guarantee high-quality audio and video episodes.
Final Episode Approval: Review final episodes for approval before publication, ensuring all quality standards are met and content is ready for release.
Strategic Planning
Episode Release Alignment: Strategically align episode releases with upcoming documentaries or docuseries, notifying podcast platforms 30 days in advance to enhance promotional efforts.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in producing audio and video content, preferably in a narrative or documentary setting.
Strong research and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to collaborate effectively with writers, talent, and production teams.
Passion for true crime and storytelling, with an understanding of audience engagement.
