Summer Intern - Communications/PR

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

Communications/PR Intern:

The Dallas Wings are seeking a Communications/PR intern. The Communications/PR intern will have the opportunity to experience the work environment of a professional sports franchise communications department. Upon completion of the internship, it is our hope that the knowledge gained is one that provides great value and experience that will support future career endeavors in the sports industry.

Areas you will be learning about:
• Sport Communication and Operations
• Coach/Athlete Interviews and Transcribing
• Media strategy
• Basic website maintenance

Learning Opportunities:
• Observe and assist the Communications Department in day-to-day operational tasks
• Assist in preparing and distributing daily/week clips throughout the organization
• Assist in recording and transcribing coach/player and personnel interviews
• Assist with Wings/Panther City publications, such as media guide, game notes, player biographies on a weekly basis
• Assist with the media outreach strategy and brainstorm unique and compelling media pitches
• Assist with player and coach interview logistics

Minimum Requirements:
• Ability to work non-traditional and long hours including evening and weekends
• Students must be currently enrolled at an accredited university; in an undergraduate or graduate degree program
