Commercial Contracts Coordinator

The DGA's members include directors, unit production managers, assistant directors, associate directors, stage managers, and production associates who work in feature film, dramatic and non-dramatic television, commercials, and documentaries.
What You'll Do
The Commercial Contracts Coordinator is responsible for administering the Guild's commercial agreement, which includes handling member inquiries, investigating contract violations and working with employer representatives to resolve them, and if necessary, pursuing violations through the contract grievance process. As part of the Guild's contract negotiations team, the Commercial Contracts Coordinator supports the work of Guild Executives by analyzing research and participating in the economic analysis of contract concepts. This position will also play a key role in serving as representative for members working in commercial production.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the contracts team on enforcement of the National Commercial Agreement and on various organizing objectives
• Comprehensive understanding of DGA contracts covering employment in the commercial industry
• Outreach to DGA members and commercial production representatives to discuss employment issues, economic rights & commercial code of best practices
• Filing grievances when necessary to resolve contract disputes
• Develop and drive contract enforcement campaigns
• Support executive team in collective bargaining research and preparation
• Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
• We seek applicants with experience administering or reviewing contracts, preferably collective bargaining agreements. However, strong entry-level candidates with a commitment to working for unions will also be considered.
• Driven and self-motivated; able to work independently as well as under supervised direction.
• Highly organized and able to handle competing priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to analyze information and frame issues.
• Professional demeanor, ability to interface with Guild members and Employer labor relations representatives.
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Commitment to collective bargaining and union representation required.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• Prior related experience needed.
• Demonstrated proficiency in PC operating systems, filesharing and collaborative work applications (Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, OneDrive).
• Demonstrated ability to maintain, evaluate, and adapt to systems and processes as part of a larger team.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and communicate succinctly, effectively, and tactfully with all levels of management, members, and colleagues.
