Intern - Casting

This is a Full Time Unpaid Internship

DirectSubmit /NYCastings is currently seeking an intern in our LA and NYC offices. This internship will be remote.

We are seeking people who have knowledge and interest in the acting business and acting experience. Preferably located in NY or LA.

This would be ideal for anyone interested in future work as a: Casting Director for Film, TV, Commercials & Theatre Talent Agent / Booker
Film Director, Producer, or Writer.

The expectation of times/days:

Can start December/January of 2024-2025. Anyone interested should know we are looking for people to start ASAP and should commit to a minimum of a 4-month long unpaid internship, and a few days a week. The more days a person could commit the better and 2 days would be the min. Credit can be given if needed for school.

10-6 pm are our hours. Ideally, people who are done with school and are looking for their start in this line of work.

A person coming in would typically start by helping us with the Casting Projects that we deal with. So you would learn how to write a Casting Breakdown then you would simply enter that job into our website. You would be working with the Casting Directors, Producers, Directors, photographers & Agents that use our services. Then you would be taught how to reach out to find new clients for us to work with. That would be the bulk of what a person would do each day in the early stages.

After that, a person would then be given tasks that would be more in tune with what they want to do as a career.

Some examples of this would be:

If they wanted to be a Casting Director, we would have them seek out directors & producers, then assist at casting sessions, deal with file transfers, and go on-set as a wrangler and generally deal with the Actors and On-Camera Talent more. We might also have the site in on the Acting Classes that we run.

If they wanted to be a Director or Producer, we would have them research Studios, Crew, maybe give them simple things to film & edit. If they knew anything about photoshop, give them graphics projects.

If they want to be in the PR or writing side of things, we might have them work with the freelance writers that write our advice articles, or conduct interviews or write content for us telling people how to use our services.

If they really liked the Tech side of things we would have them work with the programming team.

Candidates should be tech-savvy, an efficient typist, and detail-oriented with a great phone personality.
