ABC Entertainment is hiring a VP, Business Affairs who will provide support to the ABC Entertainment by negotiating, structuring and advising on deals relating to the development and production of programming content.
Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for the negotiation and ongoing supervision of deals and productions in connection with the ABC Entertainment. The individual will help oversee, structure and negotiate a wide variety of entertainment-related deals and business relationships, including the acquisition and development of scripted and reality programming, talent agreements, content licenses and acquisitions. This position will assist in managing internal and third party relationships in connection with the Entertainment business. The individual will be called upon to assist with issues that may arise in connection with the acquisition and exploitation of content across ABC and other Walt Disney Company and third party platforms and advise and support senior executives, management personnel on key business issues and rights matters.
Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum of ten (10) years of Legal and/or Business Affairs experience within the entertainment industry.
• Experience negotiating deals in network and/or cable television is strongly preferred; television business affairs experience and/or significant television legal affairs experience is required.
• Superior analytical and writing skills, together with strong business and financial acumen.
• Exceptional organizational, prioritization and time management skills with the ability to execute against multiple, high-priority projects, and with a keen attention to detail.
• Professional, confident demeanor and a team player.
• Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision while exercising discretion and independent, sound judgment, and excel in a fast-paced, results –oriented work environment.
• Exceptional inter-personal communication skills.
