Job Summary:
The Director of Publicity will work closely with the Vice President of Publicity to develop and implement communications strategies for ABC Entertainment’s scripted series, including both comedies and dramas. This person will manage a team of publicists and oversee publicity campaigns, talent relations, crisis communications, and media announcements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage press campaigns for ABC Entertainment’s scripted drama and comedy series, including strategy development, talent relations, budget management, and crisis communications.
• Serve as the primary publicity contact for scripted programming executives and studio partners, collaborating on initiatives with internal teams such as Original Programming, Marketing, and Production.
• Collaborate with various Disney business lines, such as Parks & Resorts, music, consumer products, and more, when relevant to promotional strategies.
• Maintain relationships with media, talent, publicists, and executive producers.
• Oversee trade and consumer announcement strategies and handle crisis communications.
• Some work-related travel may be required.
Basic Qualifications:
• 8-10+ years of experience in public relations or related field.
• Experience in the entertainment industry.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong team player with the ability to work with talent and executives.
• Social media savvy.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience managing a team and developing staff.
• Experience with talent relations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $131,700 to $181,000 per year. Compensation may include bonuses, long-term incentives, and benefits depending on the position and candidate’s experience.
