About the Role & Program
Join us for the opportunity to learn more about our unscripted programming and ABC Network's reality programming. The Walt Disney Television Unscripted & Alternative Entertainment team is looking for an intern to join their team. Our slate includes: The Bachelor franchise, Shark Tank, Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, America's Funniest Home Videos, Celebrity Family Feud, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and more.'' We also oversee awards shows and specials include ''The Oscars,'' ''Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest, ''Disney Singalong Franchise'', ''The CMA Awards'' and more. We also oversee the Walt Disney Television Alternative production unit, who is responsible for creative and production development of new and upcoming alternative and unscripted programming across multiple platforms within the Disney General Entertainment sphere including Hulu, Disney+ and NatGeo.

If selected for the role, you will report directly to the Coordinator, Unscripted and Alternative Entertainment.
What You Will Do
You will have the opportunity to support and work closely with department executives and assistants. You will gain an insight into administrative tasks, presentations, and research-orientated projects. As a member on our team, you will have the occasional opportunity to participate in screenings, and other department meetings or functions related to the creative development of our programming.
Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
• Updating Reports: Research various topics and update current reports using Microsoft Suite.
• View and sort Pitch Material: Look at pitch material that has been submitted to see what types of shows are being pitched.
• Screen Cuts: View cuts of current shows we have in production before they go on air.
• Administrative Duties: Cover phones, schedule meetings, update reports and more.
Required Qualifications and Skills
• Experience working in MS Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Experience working in both PC and Mac computer systems.
• Prior related internship experience, ideally in unscripted content.
• A curiosity in unscripted television and hunger to learn about network television.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task in a constantly evolving work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior administrative experience is a plus.
• Experience in covering phone lines for executives and/or senior leadership.
• Experience using Photoshop, Final Cut, iMovie and Keynote.
• Knowledge of current series on ABC and other networks is a plus, along with a passion for television.
Education
• Senior-level standing or a recent graduate within six months.
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
• Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Possess unrestricted work authorization
• Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program
Additional Information
• Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
• The approximate dates of this internship are August/September 2024 through December 2024/January 2025
• Fully available from Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm PT for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
• Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, California area
• Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
The pay rate for this internship in California is $21.70 per hour. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
