WABC-TV, New York studio seeks studio head of production electrics. The position includes the knowledge, oversight, and ongoing maintenance of all production lighting and studio electrical infrastructure.
What You Will Do
• The position requires close working relationships with Lighting Designers, all members of the stage crew, and the production team.
• This position will also play a key role in the studio buildouts with the move to the new Disney/ABC, 7 Hudson Square facility downtown.
• Work with the leadership team to recruit and hire production crew members.
Required Qualifications and Skills
• A minimum of three years of experience working with intelligent dimming systems, smart relays, low voltage data, moving lights, and light plots is required.
• Must be able to supervise and direct stage crew in a fast-paced live production environment and have the ability to multi-task on the fly.
• Typical shift is 7a-5p, but qualified applicants should have the flexibility to work earlier hours, or beyond scheduled out times when projects dictate.
• Familiarity with ETC lighting consoles or equivalent equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in live TV studio operations is preferred.
• Theatrical production experience is helpful.
• Experience operating a Genie or Scissor lift is preferred.
Required Education
• High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education:
• A college degree, technical school certificate, and union-accredited training are preferred.
The position is covered by the IATSE Local 1- ABC and WABC-TV collective bargaining agreement.
The pay rate for this role in New York is $41.0525 per hour.
