The Walt Disney Company's Disney Entertainment (DE) group includes the company's full portfolio of entertainment media and content business globally, including streaming (Disney+, Hulu).
Revenue Planning is a highly visible team of professionals with backgrounds in consulting, investment banking, private equity, media & entertainment, and technology who serve as in-house advisers to the Disney Streaming Services' executive leadership and own the revenue planning process. Revenue Planning sits within the broader Subscription Planning DTC org which drives all things related to subscriber, engagement, and revenue growth planning and reporting. The team's activities and accomplishments have contributed to the rapid growth and success of the Disney Streaming Services.
Job Summary:
The Revenue Planning team is seeking a strong candidate who will be an exceptional addition to our group of strategic business focused professionals. This role will focus on Disney+ international markets and will be critical in the expansion of the revenue forecasting process. They will assist the business planning teams and work closely with regional teams, helping to identify key business issues, evaluate strategic initiatives, track partnership and deal structures, optimize internal processes, prepare presentation materials, and more, all with an effort on getting to the most accurate revenue forecast possible.
The right person for this role has phenomenal analytical skills and attention to detail, strong financial and business acumen, and excitement for the streaming industry. They are an excellent communicator, sets a high bar for themselves, and has a track record for success when partnering with key business operators. A successful candidate will be able to confidently navigate a rapidly evolving, dynamic environment and seek opportunities to drive efficient processes and challenge the status quo. The pace and cadence for change at DTC necessitates an ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and roll up sleeves to support this important segment of the Disney business.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
• Develop, maintain, and support all activities related to the international revenue forecast process, which will need to be at the country level and take into account all the different SKUs offered while considering VAT taxes, FX rates, and more
• This will also include needing to analyze large amount of data to properly update model inputs & assumptions several times so that scenarios can be sensitized
• Maintain a strong understanding of international operating performance, major deals and transactions, issues and challenges by market, and relevant trends in the overall streaming business. This will allow you to push back on impacts given from regional teams that may not be aligned with latest expectations while providing strategic recommendations for what should go into latest plan
• Develop impactful, compelling presentation materials (decks, notes, write-ups, backup materials, etc.) that effectively communicates revenue projections, relevant drivers, risks & opportunities, and key findings that can help influence key operational decisions
• Develop and nurture relationships with internal business partners at the consolidated level as well as international teams to identify ways to improve process efficiency in revenue forecasting and ARPU reporting across the business
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training
• Bachelor's degree from a top-tier school with a major in Finance, Economics or similar discipline
• 2+ years of finance or strategy experience and proven track record with a top tier tech or media & entertainment firm, management consultancy or investment bank / PE firm or Big 4
• Strong analytical capabilities and financial modeling skills (MS Excel), including the ability to build models from scratch
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including PowerPoint) and ability to simplify complex matters for an executive audience
• Ability to work well in teams, both within the group and with other business units
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects at the same time, while keeping management properly informed
• Familiarity with working in or with global, large organizations is a plus
The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA, Washington D.C., and Chicago, IL is $103,500 to $138,800 per year, in Seattle, WA is $108,500 to $145,400 per year and in San Francisco, CA is $113,400 to $152,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
