About:

Drape Kings is a nationwide event services company seeking experienced Scenic and Event Carpenters.

Having expanded our core business, Drape Kings is recruiting Scenic Carpenters experienced in the scenic aspects of Live Events within the NYC Metro. YOU MUST HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE TO APPLY. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO CONSIDERATION GIVEN TO NON-EXPERIENCED CANDIDATES. You also must be able to work out of our North Bergen warehouse. We are located 2.5 miles outside the Lincoln Tunnel.

Key Qualifications:

- Scenic or Set building experience is required along with fabric stretching experience.
- The ability to work from and interpret scale drawings, CAD and elevation plans is required.
- Experience working within a Corporate Client environment.
- Strong ability to effectively communicate with other staff members / departments as well as clients.
- Professional appearance and demeanor a must.
- Knowledge of the Audio / Visual aspects of the Event or Theater Industry required.
- The ability to manage teams and small groups, including the ability to adapt to changing time lines or requirements.

Employment Qualifications:

- Must be able to lift 62 lbs.
- Work varied shifts including weekends, holidays and overnights.
- Ability to adhere to tight deadlines is required.
- Maintain a safe working environment by conforming to all established safety policies and procedures, as well as participate in
all required safety training programs.
- Load equipment in / out of truck.
- Setup and strike equipment at a variety of show sites and environments.
- Experience in a relevant industry is preferred: Scenic Shop, Theatrical, Event Décor, Lighting and/or Sound, Rental and
Staging, Special Events, Weddings, Film and TV productions, Party or Equipment Rental or Trade Shows.
- Must have above average proficiencies with both power and hand tools.
- Some Travel is expected within this position.
- Physically capable of climbing ladders and working on elevated scaffolding.
