This is a Part Time Paid Internship
PAID INTERNSHIP
Location: Kent, WA or Tampa, FL
Duration: Seasonal (3-6 months)
Compensation: Stipend ($2500/mo)
Driveline Baseball is seeking High-Performance Interns to join our teams in Washington and Florida. The ideal candidate will have experience with coaching, programming, and assessing athletes in the weight room and connecting athlete physical qualities to their on-field performance.
The HP Intern will work closely with the lead HP trainer and other facility leadership to ensure seamless integration of all elements of athlete training, assessments, and programming. This role involves daily collaboration with trainers, coaches, and athletes to drive development and results.
We're seeking talented coaches from diverse backgrounds who bring expertise in disciplines such as high performance, pitching, hitting, and athletic training. The ideal candidate will:
• Collaborate effectively with trainers and coaches to design and implement an elite athletic training environment.
• Demonstrate a passion for helping athletes succeed and reach their full potential.
• Engage athletes to ensure they're prepared to apply trained abilities beyond the gym.
• Be eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitoring athlete workouts and coaching on the weight room floor.
• Conducting athlete assessments and using the data from them to educate and implement on-site and remote athlete training plans.
• Collaborate with our sports science, hitting, and pitching teams to optimize day to day training outcomes and advance research initiatives.
• Provide expert coaching and mentorship to athletes ranging from youth (ages 9-13), high school (ages 14-18), college, and professional levels - both in-gym and remotely
• Assist the Operations Coordinator with administrative duties such as scheduling and checking in athletes.
• Contribute to a positive, growth-oriented training environment that fosters continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 1 season of coaching experience (baseball or strength and conditioning) OR 2 years progress to a degree in exercise science or similar.
• Familiarity with Driveline's training methodologies, either through direct experience or extensive study
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday
• Comfort with frequent physical activity, including demonstrating exercises, baseball movements like throwing or swinging, and hands-on coaching
Preferred Qualifications
• Progress towards a degree in exercise science, biomechanics, or related field
• NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or equivalent
• Experience with weight room data collection hardware and software (Force plates, VBT, speed gates, etc.)
• Experience with Driveline Traq athlete management system
• Expertise in multiple aspects of player development (strength training, manual therapy, pitching mechanics)
• Experienced with content creation tools, videography, generative AI, and related tools
