Digital Media Metadata Technician

Founded in 1996, Duplitech is one of L.A.'s most respected independent media service labs. We provide a full range of content delivery solutions: On Disc, On Demand and On DCP. Our in-house services include: 4K film scanning & digital restoration, Blu-ray/DVD authoring, mezzanine package creation & QC for digital release, technical editing and asset conform, standards conversion, subtitling, and audio restoration/up mix.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in digital media operations or post production environment.
• Experience with Quality control preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional organizational skills with a strong focus on detail-oriented work.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision
• Understanding of Video compression and familiar with standard frame rates, aspect ratios, and codecs
• Able to identify interlaced vs progressive footage
• Knowledge of streaming video content and familiar with various platform specs (Samsung, Netflix, iTunes, Amazon, Etc)
• Experience with metadata schema and databases, and familiarity with XML or JSON formats is a plus.

Functions
• Conduct quality checks on metadata entries and captions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to platform specifications.
• Verify video/audio technical specifications and file formats
• Transcode assets using automated hot folders.
• Inspect visuals and audio for anomalies and sync issues.
• Ensure content complies with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as industry standards (e.g., closed captioning, ratings, S&P).
• Comprehensively track and manage a queue of work
• Provide detailed feedback and reports on quality issues.
