Our offices are in Torrance and Burbank, CA.
We currently have an opening in our FILM Department for a Colorist experienced in HDR/SDR Grading. You will be color grading a wide range of catalog films being remastered from 35mm and 16mm Film.
Job Responsibilities:
• SDR and HDR grading from log film scans
• Dolby Vision trim passes
• Ensure workflow integrity and quality standards at all times, through source evaluation, color adjustments and approvals.
• Collaborate with clients, creative, and staff to ensure the established look matches creative intent.
• Documentation through our project management platform.
• Offer creative solutions to improve efficiency, collaborating closely with our senior colorists and remastering team.
Skills:
• 5 years of long-form color correction experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Davinci Resolve.
• Knowledge of color science, 4K, P3, HDR, Dolby Vision and color managed workflows.
• Understanding of photometric concepts such as exposure, contrast ratios, color temperature.
• Knowledge of film history and print stock characteristics; knowledge of film based workflows is a plus.
• Understanding of various file formats, codecs, color gamut, transfer functions, and video legalities.
• Strong attention to detail; ability to detect and resolve source issues.
• Technical ability to troubleshoot during color sessions.
• Excellent communication skills amongst staff and clients.
