Join the Economics Explained YouTube Team as a Scriptwriter!
Who we are looking for:
- Experienced Scriptwriter: Proven experience in script writing, preferably for YouTube or other digital platforms; excellent research skills and attention to detail
- Qualification in Geopolitics/ Economics/ or any related subject: Passionate about understanding geopolitical and economic dynamics
- YouTube Savvy: Regular consumer of YouTube content
- Work Ethic: Strong reliability, delivering fact-checked scripts, sticking to agreed deadlines
- Availability: Able to write at least 1 script per month and have up to 2 hours of meetings / week
- Native or bilingual English speaker
Responsibilities:
- Scriptwriting: Create video scripts that are engaging, educational, unbiased, and fact-checked, including animation guidance for editors for compelling visuals to accompany the scripts
- Topic Selection: Identify topics and key events on the world stage that can reach wide audiences
Feedback/Production Oversight: Exchange feedback with our production team to ensure the final video aligns with your vision

These are not required but appreciated and may facilitate a role development to increased responsibilities
- Thumbnail/Title Guidance: Write strong, attention-grabbing titles and give creative directions for the thumbnail creation
- Creative Production Lead: Interest and curiosity about programming for YouTube, as well as creating the creative vision for the channel
- Interest in transitioning into a full-time role with more responsibilities

We spark curiosity about economics with documentary style, entertaining videos on trending topics from the point of view of an economist. So everyone can be more knowledgeable about how the world works and the role of economic forces in our lives. We have a subscribership of +2.5M subscribers
