nder the direction of the Financial Accounting and Reporting Lead, the Financial Accountant is an integral part of preparing the corporate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Key areas of responsibility include general accounting, AP, AR, auditing expenses, GL coding, software billings, banking, month-end entries, and account reconciliations. The Financial Accountant's duties must be performed consistently with the Company's mission and values and adhere to Company policies and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates and posts corporate manual transactions and month-end adjusting entries
Reconciles all corporate bank accounts monthly
Maintains and updates monthly GL reconciliations (including Remit Recs) and supporting schedules for all balance sheet accounts and prepares journal entries accordingly
Troubleshoots data streams from NPS into ORACLE daily
Updates cash management spreadsheet daily
Creates billings for software and other charges to customers
Maintains fixed asset subledger
Supports administrator for CWT Travel portal and corporate credit cards
Backs up AP administrator and the Financial Accounting and Reporting Lead when required
Oversees and approves all coding of A/P transactions prior to entries being posted daily
Provide support to all members of the Finance team and the VP Finance as required
Qualifications:
Essential:
CPA designation preferred or final stage of CPA program
2-3 years related work experience including the preparation of financial statements
Experience with Oracle Fusion or similar large ERP system is preferred
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, MS Word and Outlook
Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues in a high volume and fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to work with deadlines in an organized manner
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Exceptional interpersonal skills and comfortable interacting with all organization levels
Takes initiative and works well under minimal supervision
Ability to work well independently and as a team
Positive attitude and a genuine passion for the Finance field
Ability to grasp new software easily
Proven ability to maintain sensitive and highly confidential information
