Studio Enco Engineer

Santa Monica, CA | Full Time

Summary

We are searching for a reliable, detail-orientated Studio / ENCO engineer to join our growing team at Entravision. The studio engineer's responsibilities include assisting and providing support for the Broadcast Studio Director, maintaining the integrity of studio operations and executing tasks requested from the director and other studio production/engineering staff. This role requires excellent time management. Candidates must have knowledge base of ENCO / broadcast automation software to be considered for this position. Familiarity with ATX XDS IP audio distribution system is desired but not required.

To be successful as a Studio engineer, you should have a discerning ear and overall skills capable of identifying issues as they arise and how to approach them. Outstanding candidates are knowledgeable about audio equipment, broadcast automation systems and basic facility operations and are able to follow written and verbal instructions, and consistently deliver proven results.
Position is located at our Santa Monica office.


Essential Functions

Maintain Broadcast studios & IP based distribution of network audio programming, and schedule facility maintenance
Maintain and manage the ENCO broadcast automation systems across the studio network.
Managing and maintaining broadcast audio and automation systems and advising staff on equipment operations and occasional training as needed.
Testing and troubleshooting equipment from time to time, and replacing or reporting any faulty components to the director.
Primary duties include the operation, monitoring, improvement, repair, and emergency
repair of the Suavecita, Tricolor, Fuego, Erazno, NFL, KSSC, KSSE, KDLD and KLYY.
Air, Image, and Production Studio ENCO units.

Specific duties include:

Monitor Los Angeles studio ENCO operations.
Monitor XDS system including affiliate receivers.
Program XDS receiver for affiliates
Submit proposals for ENCO system improvements that increase reliability,
Improve equipment performance, or provide additional capability.
Be ''on call'' 24 hours /day to respond to any Los Angeles studio or local market station emergency that results in an ''off the air''
Maintain proper operation of the studios that seriously affects programming at any station.
Update ENCO software as necessary to insure reliable system operation per lead engineer's specification and direction.
Maintain EAS logs of LA radio station
Required Education and Experience

Minimum of 5 years experience in broadcast studio operations. Familiarity with Comrex Access, IPLink, ENCO Automation, ATS XDS, Telos, and Wheatstone TDM console systems a plus.

Reports directly to Chief Engineer TV & RD
