Managing Producer, Non-Traditional Productions

Position Summary:
The Managing Producer will support the Non-Traditional Production (NTP) leadership team in developing strategy, managing content quality, and overseeing sports/event scheduling for assigned conference partners. This role ensures maximum utilization of school control room facilities for both linear and digital productions while upholding ESPN's production standards.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the main point of contact for the NTP Business Unit.
• Work with internal Sport Leaders and Management Teams on production schedules and personnel management for school control room events.
• Collaborate with ESPN Programming to manage digital production schedules for school partners.
• Maintain and analyze school control room information and historical data.
• Work with ESPN Finance on production budgets for school control rooms.
• Support third-party production teams during NCAA, ACC, and SEC Championships and other packaged events.
• Act as a liaison between ESPN and school production facilities to ensure seamless content exchange.
• Evaluate university production facilities and provide feedback to management for growth and development.
• Standardize production quality across networks through feedback and observation.
• Provide regular performance feedback to production crews and talent.
• Interface with leagues, teams, schools, and coaches as required.
Qualifications:
• Required:
- Minimum 5 years of progressively complex sports production experience.
- Expertise in real-time sporting event production, graphics, and video editing.
- Experience in school production facilities or similar environments.
- Proven ability to produce compelling remote sports telecasts.
- Strong knowledge of sports history, trends, and ESPN’s positioning.
- Prior experience in personnel management.
• Preferred:
- Familiarity with school production workflows.
- Ability to manage and enhance production quality for live events.
