Public Relations & Communications Intern opportunity in Hollywood, CA with Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (''FMIC'').
We are not simply looking for interns to make copies and get coffee; we need a student with an interest in PR, social media, brand and media partnerships, and more. The PR, Communications and Digital Departments touch and interact with all teams across the entire FMIC Marketing Department. Applying for this fantastic position indicates you:

-Identifying and researching new media targets, feature sections to expand our media opportunities.
-Monitoring for Fender news & social media placements across print, broadcast and digital medias.
-Assisting in the creation and maintenance of calendars, project racking worksheets and other internal PR assets.
-Owning the updates for our master media distribution list and media coverage tracker.
-Owning the updates for the monthly status report.
-Participating in brainstorms for upcoming events, campaigns & product releases, and in agency meetings/relations.
-Drafting targeted product review pitches for music industry (''MI'') media.
-Drafting pitches for lifestyle media; pitching media on a case-by-case basis.
-Compiling data for monthly competitor report (media coverage & social).
-Scanning and creating paste-ups for media coverage and create email copy to send out to the internal team.
-Scanning for media opportunities in local and national newspapers.
-Owning the updates and reorganization of our internal drive and assets.
-...and the biggest task of all...owning, developing, and delivering an end-of-semester intern project.

Experience Requirements:
-Strong hand's on experience with MS Office programs, database programs, research tools, and electronic media
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Active participant across social media
-Flexible with the ability to effectively prioritize projects within the department
-Team-player who is highly self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
-Superb attention-to-detail skills
-Previous internship or related experience in marketing and communications is strongly preferred
-Education Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited college/university with a major in Marketing, PR, Communications, Advertising, or a related field entering into your Junior or Senior year
Minimum GPA of 3.0
