Film Movement is a full-service North American distributor of critically acclaimed award-winning independent, international, and classic films.
In this internship you will learn the ins and outs of independent film distribution; how completed films are acquired by a distributor and then marketed to audiences across a variety of media platforms.
The position is hybrid, with the option to intern in-person at Film Movement's office in Midtown Manhattan, or remotely. This internship includes opportunities to support various departments including publicity, marketing, sales, acquisitions, and operations. We are looking to fill this position immediately. The internship is for two to three days a week with a $20/day stipend to cover lunch and transportation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Grassroots marketing initiatives, writing copy, creating sales materials, sales research, drafting metadata for home video and VOD platforms, quality control screenings, and day-to-day operational assistance including help with home video and digital production.
Requirements:
• Undergraduate or Master's degree currently in progress
• A basic understanding of the film industry
• Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point); Adobe Design Suite a plus but not required
• Ability to work autonomously as part of a team
• Timeliness and good communication skills
