Teen Screen Assistant Director - Full-time


Film Pittsburgh is looking for an enthusiastic, self-confident team member to help Teen Screen grow. Ideal candidates are self-directed, comfortable interacting with the public, willing to travel to and present at conferences, and eager to play an integral role on a dynamic team.

Responsibilities

include but are not limited to:
• Working collaboratively with Film Pittsburgh staff to select educational films
• Developing teaching materials and plans for each film presented
• Leading pre- and post-screening discussions with 4th-12th grade students
• Data collection and data entry, including developing and maintaining mailing lists
• Understanding various communities to identify collaborations and expert speakers
• Scheduling and coordinating volunteers This position requires access to a car and a willingness to travel independently to schools or screening venues in Allegheny and adjacent counties. There may be occasional travel to other parts of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, or farther afield, for conferences or stakeholders' meetings.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in education, English, history, or related field; advanced degree and demonstrated managerial experience preferred
• Exceptional writing, communication, and public speaking skills
• Comfortable leading discussions with small and large groups of young people
• Skilled in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work independently and set priorities
• Familiarity with filmmaking and editing skills is a plus This full-time, remote position requires Southwestern PA residency and current PA clearances to work with children. Availability to work on other Film Pittsburgh programs that are offered in the evening and on weekends is required. Film Pittsburgh is an EOE.
