Social Media Content Creator, Memphis Showboats

Spring just got stronger, and we are looking for a Freelance Social Media Content Creator to help bring the Memphis Showboats social media and digital presence to life for the inaugural UFL season. The best fit for this role will be someone who is ready to hit the ground running, loves spring football, and is ready to take on a social voice that truly embodies this team and Memphis.

You will be responsible for the creation of social content including gathering content from games and events, creating graphics using preexisting templates, clipping highlights, and ideation of each week's content – This is a chance to be embedded with the team and showcase everything this team and Memphis has to offer!

This is an onsite role located in Arlington, TX and will require travel on weekends to assigned game locations.

Snapshot of Responsibilities
• Shoot and gather on-site social content before, during, and after games, practices, and events
• Create and distribute social content (graphics, videos, memes, sales executions, etc) from the Memphis Showboats social accounts
• Help produce social and digital video, images and audio with players, coaches, and talent
• Meet deadlines and work with the UFL digital team in a quick and efficient manner
• Support and work alongside the UFL digital team to make sure all content priorities during practices, games and events are met
• Develop and maintain a professional relationship with the players, coaches, and league staff on and off the field
• Join planning meetings and pitch original content ideas that can be used throughout the season.
• Write social media copy
• Monitor the daily social conversations of fans, influencers, other brands and teams to identify trends and best practices
• Engage with fans in thoughtful and creative ways through social media using the voice of the Memphis Showboats
• Ideate short-form videos to be used on Memphis Showboats Social channels
• Work closely with front office to promote ticket sales and other market initiatives
• Other duties as assigned

What You Will Need
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 3+ years of experience in digital/social content creation or production
• Knowledge of what works on social, and a proficiency working with social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok
• Proficiency editing in Adobe Premiere and Photoshop
• Critical thinking required around newsworthiness, need for source checking, and identification of risks in sharing certain information
• Ability to work late nights, weekends, holidays, and whenever UFL events are occurring.
• Strong writing skills
• Ability to create and ideate social media content with tight deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate with teammates
• Must have an extremely high level of professionalism on and off the field
• Ability to be outdoors, stand for long periods of time and carry equipment up to 25 lbs
• Must be a passionate football fan who is knowledgeable about the game of football
• This position will be based in Arlington, Texas and will require travel on weekends to assigned game locations
• This position will require full availability from February 20th through the end of the UFL season
