Head of Production - ATL
Reports To: CEO - Out of Los Angeles
Department: VFX Supervision or Production

FuseFX is looking to expand its operations to Atlanta GA and currently looking for a creative leader as Head of Production- ATL. This individual will serve as a key strategist and business lead for our Atlanta Studio and ideally has proven experience and relationships as a Senior VFX Supervisor, Executive Producer or similar role. The ideal candidate understands the business of VFX and is passionate about creating an innovative and creative work environment for our Atlanta based artists. We seek a leader, who understands people and the importance of strong client relationships, deadlines, and deliveries.
Overall Responsibility
The Head of Production will initially be responsible to lead projects as a supervisor or producer and be responsible for overseeing and maintaining a smooth operation while maximizing quality product and communication with all departments. These duties include the management of key staff, project budgets, client relationships and collaborative management for the direction, growth and vision of the studio. As the studio grows, the position could migrate to a focus on facility and creative management, or a leadership position on major projects depending on the interests of the individual.
Business Development/Client Relations
Front-line person to attend pitch, concept, VFX and production meetings at studios and production offices
Utilize existing client contacts to develop new work for the facility
Reading scripts and initial bidding/creative discussions with the client
Development of new, potential studio relationships
Assure that existing clients are happy within the facility and are being properly maintained
Maintain high level client management on jobs supervised by other staff
Business Operations
Strategize an overall approach for the company's direction regarding business and growth in market
Partner in the day-to-day decisions regarding the overall business practices
Establish profitable and efficient operations for Atlanta office
Identify potential growth in our overall business model to Executive Management
Ensure operations run in a consistent fashion with processes and procedures defined by LA office
Ensure that regular production meetings and resource evaluations occur
Review Supervisor/Producer/Data manager schedules in the database on a regular basis to monitor load and work distribution
Ensure consistent processes for quality control and financial impact of work
Act as a bridge between management (Producers/Coordinators) and artists, identifying potential problems and creating solutions
Develop and train department heads and monitor their use of similar process as office grows
Recruit, hire, and supervise all in-house personnel - either directly or through your direct reports
Take responsibility for all staff supervision and morale - either directly or through your direct reports
Ensure that training occurs for new employees and artists
Work with HR and Accounting for salary reviews and client billing
Maintain 24/7 availability to respond to office or job emergencies - unless specifically delegated
Qualifications & Experience
8+ years working in VFX industry as VFX Supervisor, Executive Producer or similar role
Solid understanding of VFX pipeline and post-production process and execution
Strong client relationship skills with existing industry contacts within the market
Excellent communication skills and experience cultivating creative working relationships with clients, producers, artists, and senior management
Superior negotiations skills with the ability to hire top tier talent, manage, retain, and mentor
Self-Motivated with demonstrated experience driving business results
Desire and commitment to serve others and exude character, experience, humility, wisdom, and discernment when necessary
Even temperament, calm under pressure, resourceful at solving complex problems and knows how to meet production deadlines
