About the role:
• The ideal candidate will have a passion for film and television and is willing to immerse themselves in all facets of the role, from the administrative to the creative and potentially take on larger opportunities such as helping with pitches, creating grids, and conducting research.
On a given day, a workday may include:
• Emails, from organizing executive's inbox to tracking follow-ups and drafting responses on their behalf.
• Serve as the first point of contact with clients, agents, and other executives.
• Phones, handling heavy phones, rolling calls, and ensuring that follow-ups are made.
• Managing calendar, working with other development assistants to ensure all meetings are scheduled and all who need to be, are present. Keeping other assistants abreast of any important changes.
• Scheduling travel, preparing expense reports, and general office management tasks
• Taking copious notes on all meetings
• Occasionally being able to participate in creative calls, monitoring editorial and production progress.
• Serve as an active member of the Fuzzy Door team, which may include reviewing pitches to networks, checking for language and grammar issues, providing personal opinions so the group can assess the creative viability of a project and working with other assistants to finish a required task that may come up at the 11th hour
• Help create grids such as casting breakdowns and writer's grids and messaging selects to various team members
• Read scripts and provide coverage.
• Stay up to date on current events within the entertainment landscape, especially as it relates to motion pictures and television.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
