WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The Production Manager will play a vital role in supporting the technical and production needs of the GRAMMY Museum. Reporting to the Technical Director, you will work closely with the Production team and the Museum's internal and external clients to ensure that all technical elements of our projects are executed smoothly, efficiently, and in a professional manner.
You have live production and events experience, a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues as they arise. You are a self-starter interested in working in a multifaceted production environment in a fast-paced Museum setting.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Live Production and Event Needs
• Coordinate with Technical Director all load in, sound check and load out times.
• Coordinate with Technical Director on stage plots, input lists, and backline deliveries.
• Lead the load in/load out of local and touring crew.
• Assist A1 and A2 with stage inputs and make an accurate input list for FOH, Monitor Engineers and LD.
• Set up and test all backline, video, and lighting.
• Meet artist/crew on arrival and assist crew with gear to and from the CDT and Terrace.
• Be present during all sound checks, rehearsals, and performances to assist talent, FOH engineer, LD, and TD with production.
• Set up and tech multi-camera video production and live steams for each performance.
• Set up an on-stage interview, work with LD and Camera OP for continuity.
• Work closely with internal Museum teams for any production needs.
• Monitor all aspects of production quality and tech problem solving during performances.
• Attend tech walkthroughs with Private Event Clients to determine technical and staffing needs.
• Stay up to date with the latest developments in production technology and techniques and make recommendations for equipment upgrades or improvements.
• Actively maintain all backline and technical equipment.
Digital Media
• Assist the Director of Digital Media as assigned on photo and film shoots for the Museum's various projects and cross-departmental needs.
• Assist with editing, mixing, video conversation and archiving.
Museum Operations / General Tech Assistance
• Provide technical support to Museum staff and visitors, assisting with technology related inquiries and troubleshooting tech related issues as part of the Museum's tech / production team.
• Help to ensure proper operation of the Museum's interactives and multimedia displays.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college a plus.
• 3+ years' experience in live concert and event production. Previous Production Manager experience preferred.
• Experience in working in multiple areas of production (stage management, lighting, audio, video, etc.).
• Experience with Adobe Suite, Final Cut Pro, Logic, and Pro-Tools.
• Proficiency with SoundCraft Vi3000, Road Hog 4, Dante, TriCaster 410+, Real-time FX, Multi-camera live streaming, Video and Audio Codecs.
• PC and Mac skills. Proficiency in MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to multi-task, meet tight timelines, and work effectively in a high pressure and fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize efficiently and quickly.
• Must be available to work days, evenings and weekends as needed.
