Where is the future of cinema today? Are you tired of hearing people puzzling over the status of traditional modes of distribution for independent film? Would you like to work for a company that is not wondering about the future but actively engaged in it?

The future has arrived and it is called Video on Demand (VoD), and that company is Gravitas Ventures.

Gravitas Ventures (check out our website) is the largest distributor of independent films to the VoD marketplace in North America. We license content to our studio partners Warner Bros., as well as directly to leading cable, satellite, telco and online VoD platforms. We have recently worked on films like 5 STAR DAY (Cam Gigandet, Jena Malone), A WARRIOR'S HEART (Kellan Lutz), and Morgan Spurlock's COMIC CON EPISODE IV: A FAN'S HOPE, just to name a few. Working with more than 400 content partners, we aggregate and distribute content worldwide.

We are looking for interns who are passionately interested in learning about VOD and what we do. We are a company that has always thought outside the box, and we are looking for interns who can do the same. Interns will be involved at every level from distribution to marketing to acquisitions, and we encourage active involvement.

We are seeking 2 full time or 3 part-time paid interns for work during the FALL SEMESTER of 2012 and possibly beyond. Position will begin in late August.

For one position we are seeking demonstrated skills using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as advanced knowledge of video editing skills with software such as Final Cut Pro, Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere).

Duties will include:

• Film acquisition research.
• Entertainment marketing tactics.
• Internet distribution research (i.e. Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, iTunes, Xbox, Vudu, etc).
• Applicant must be organized, able to work independently.
• General office duties (maintaining submission binder, greeting guests, keeping office organized)

Must be proficient with standard MS Office applications such as: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Additional attributes useful (but not required): Photoshop and other creative editing tools, website design.
We are a small office of eight people, and intelligent, proactive, and interested interns are essential to us. Your work will be tantamount to the functioning of the office, and we are happy to teach and involve you along the way. Plus, we do have occasional company fun!
