Music Publishing/Artist Royalty Analyst

Business Management Firm Seeks Royalty Analyst. Full benefits package offered. Salary DOE.

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Analyze Artist/Producer/Publisher/Writer agreements
• Prepare/Review semi-annual Artist and Producer royalty statements
• Prepare/Review quarterly Publisher statements
• Perform desktop audits on incoming statements
• Process monthly Management/Legal Commissions
• Determine Royalty Allocations
• Assist with audits
• Facilitate systems to simplify the statement generation process
• Follow-up with inquiries, as needed
• Prepare royalty forecast reports
Job Requirements:
• BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Music Business
• Five years of accounting/royalty experience in the music industry
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (Formulas, Macros, Pivot Tables, Linking) a plus
• Ability to interpret artist contracts including royalty rates, escalations, producer deductions, controlled composition clauses (when applicable), as well as mechanical royalty licenses
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to meet strong deadlines
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities at any given time
• Ability to keep information confidential
• Ability to problem solve
• Ability to work as a team and accomplish shared goals
• Desire to learn new skills and increase knowledge of the inner workings of the industry
• Knowledge of Record Maestro and Music Maestro a plus
• Ability to work overtime as needed
