Your Impact
ELLE's is seeking a team-oriented, ambitious, creative, kind, and hands-on editorial beauty assistant. This role includes both editorial and administrative duties, with wide-ranging responsibilities in print to support Elle's beauty team. You will also have the opportunity to pitch, report, and write stories for the print magazine (and online).
Please note: For consideration, resumes must be submitted in PDF format with a cover letter, salary requirements, and a link to a portfolio of work.
What You'll Do:
• Provide administrative support for the beauty team, including scheduling, building stories, calling in samples, maintaining databases, and managing the beauty closet.
• Ideate, write, and build weekly SEO, e-comm, and evergreen beauty stories using internal analytics and data to optimize your content.
• Contribute to each print issue by pitching ideas and reporting and writing stories as needed.
• Regularly interview and work with top industry experts for print and digital stories.
• Contribute fresh, unique ideas for both print and digital.
• Cover backstage at New York Fashion Week.
• Represent the beauty team at industry events and desksides.
Who you are:
• A college grad who has 0-1 years of experience with editing and/or writing in beauty.
• A super-organized self-starter, who can juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced creative environment and own tasks from beginning to end.
• You know about skin and hair types, other than your own, and are curious about the all-encompassing world of beauty, beyond just products.
• A skilled writer, with creative, endless ideas both big and small, and an interest in feature writing and in supporting the team.
• A tech-savvy individual, who has a pulse on beauty, culture, politics, news, and fashion.
