The Hearst Magazines Enthusiast & Wellness Group is looking for an editor to join the growing Deals & Trends team that supports Runner's World, Bicycling, Popular Mechanics, Best Products, Men's Health, Women's Health, Oprah Daily, and Biography.com. The ideal person for this role is obsessed with online shopping, has a passion for finding the best sales and newest up-and-coming products - including buzzy items for the home, helpful fitness gear, cool tech products, and more - and has an interest in sharing those products with our audience on various platforms from search to social. You should feel confident writing a compelling story that can succeed in both search and social platforms with relevant imagery, attention-grabbing headlines, and authoritative copy. Our brands are the authority in a number of key categories including lawn and garden, tools and home improvement, electronics and technology, outdoors and fitness, running and cycling, appliances and smart homes, parenting, and beauty. Since you'll have the opportunity to recommend products to millions of users per month, a genuine interest in our product categories is a must. We need someone who feels comfortable writing up a deal on a solar-powered generator one week to covering a Nordstrom beauty sale the next. This role can sit in New York, New York or Easton, PA, and works closely with a variety of departments, including Editorial, Performance Marketing, and Executive Stakeholders. What you'll do: • Pitch, write, and produce deals and trends content that responds to a season, an event, a project, and other brand goals • Support search and affiliate goals with a flexible mindset and the ability to change course quickly • Identify deals relevant to our various audiences, and produce content in a serviceable format and timely manner • Support the team's strategy for all major sale events and upcoming launches • Monitor news cycle to identify content opportunities, whether with new or existing content • Liaise with SEO team to ensure all content is optimized for search and commerce • Use data management tools to optimize for affiliate revenue Who you are: • You have a bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience creating commerce content at a digital-first outlet • You are a sharp writer with the ability to optimize for search and affiliate best practices • You are familiar with data tools like Google Analytics, Looker, Skimlinks, or similar reporting tools • You are able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and comfortable pivoting based on business needs • You have excellent communication skills, verbal and written • You must be able to collaborate and foster positive relationships with colleagues • You must have experience working in a CMS • You are available to work major shopping holidays This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement. Salary/Benefits
$67,000.00 - 77,000.00 per year
The base salary for this role is between $67,000-$77,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
