Esquire is seeking a thoughtful, creative thinker with serious story editing chops and a fountain of ideas to join our editorial team. You will assign and edit pieces ranging from quick-hit news to reviews, interviews, and zeitgeisty think pieces. You will also oversee the evergreen entertainment SEO initiative.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Contribute to Esquire's culture coverage (writing and editing), ensuring a mix of subjects within a range of content-from quick takes and news posts to reported stories and packages.
• Manage daily SEO output
• Cultivate and manage a stable of freelance writers.
• Develop editorial series and franchises.
• Develop and maintain relationships with PRs and studios for booking talent for interviews, videos, or social media opportunities etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 4 years writing and editing experience in a digital-first work environment
• Deadline-driven, creative thinker, with a strong journalistic sensibility
• Versatile, able to shift gears quickly and manage several projects simultaneously in a daily publishing environment
• Familiar with analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Google Trends
• Knowledge and familiarity with SEO best practices
• You have an endless appetite for all things entertainment and culture and a discerning eye for internet culture and trends.
This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Salary/Benefits
$67,000.00 - 70,000.00 per year
The base salary for this role is between $67,000-$70,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
