Esquire seeks an Executive Design Director who will oversee and direct design and visuals across Esquire's platforms, including digital, print, video, newsletters, branded products, Apple News, and social channels. Responsibilities will include overseeing the roll out of editorial packages across all our platforms, and ensuring that social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, etc.) are aligned with Esquire's big moments. This role will be responsible for creating graphics that improve engagement, whether it's creating an intentional branded vision for affiliate content or improving the look of newsletters, and more. The Executive Design Director will manage a design team who will also work across all our platforms. You must be able to work at a high level while managing multiple projects in a highly collaborative environment. This role reports to the Editor-in-Chief.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead a team of multi-platform designers
• Oversee visual and design direction on all of Esquire's platforms
• Create mood boards as needed for big initiatives
• Direct shoots
• Work closely with the visual and video hubs
• Find efficiencies and creative solves to come in under budget
• Create graphics that improve engagement across relevant platforms
QUALIFICATIONS
• 15 years of professional content design experience
• Expert knowledge of InDesign, Figma, Adobe Workshop, Adobe Illustrator
• Exceptional production skills and facility with a CMS
• Vast knowledge of photographers
• Experience directing shoots and managing a team
This position is based in the NYC office a minimum of 3 days a week. No remote flexibility.

Salary/Benefits
$168,000.00
- 180,000.00
per year
The base salary for this role is $168-$180k. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
