Harper's Bazaar is looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Senior Fashion Digital Writer who is well-versed in the shopping landscape. In this position, you will work closely with the Executive Digital Director. Digital Director and Fashion News Director to shape and expand the site's fashion and commerce coverage by ideating, writing, and editing long-lead features, celebrity style and fashion trend stories and be a key player in Bazaar's coverage of tentpole moments, including but not limited to, The Met Gala, Fashion Month and global award ceremonies. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for producing a clean copy under tight deadlines, writing engaging copy that connects fashion to culture and will have an ownable and digitally first perspective. Additionally, this candidate will be asked to appear as talent in fun, engaging TikTok and YouTube videos to further drive traffic.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Pitch, report, and edit engaging stories related to fashion, celebrity news and commerce.
• Expertise in understanding storytelling, engaging copy, social media, and in-depth market knowledge to create a cohesive narrative that marries brand with a winning traffic strategy.
• Collaborate with print fashion and marketing teams to make sure content is aligned with the magazine.
• Establish relationships with a wide-reaching network of internal and external partners, including top-tier writers, fashion insiders, top retailers, designers, and representatives of major fashion and tech companies
• Collaborate with our social media team to ensure an optimized, multi-platform experience of Harper's Bazaar's fashion and market coverage.
• Experience with Google Analytics, Asana, Looker, and all social media platforms.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 4-6 years of post-grad experience editing and/or writing for a publication, with a particular emphasis on fashion content; cross-platform experience is a plus
• Deep knowledge of fashion, fashion trends, and the industry
• Comfortable and confident writing for print and for digital
• Knowledgeable about SEO best practices and able to utilize Google Analytics and other analytics tools
• Passionate about developing 360-degree ideas (digital, print, social, experiential) around fashion
• Strong reporting skills; a bachelor's degree in journalism is a plus
• True multi-tasker who can work under tight deadlines and who is self-motivated.
This position is based in the NYC office a minimum of 3 days a week.
This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Salary/Benefits
$74.00 - 81.00 per year
The base salary for this role is $74-$81k. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
