Job Title: Marketing and Community Coordinator, DTC Comics
Role Overview:
The Marketing and Community Coordinator will play a pivotal role in building our social media presence, engaging our growing community, and supporting our e-commerce initiatives. Reporting to the Director of DTC, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create engaging content, execute marketing campaigns, and strengthen relationships with our subscribers and fans.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Strategy and Execution
• Content Creation and Curation: Develop high-quality, engaging content tailored to each platform (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, etc.), ensuring it aligns with brand identity and speaks to target audiences. Focus on creating shareable and visually compelling posts, videos, reels, and stories that capitalize on current viral trends.
• Video-First Strategy: Prioritize video content to maximize reach and engagement, using tools like Canva, Photoshop, and video editing software to produce professional yet authentic material. Experiment with new formats, such as live streams, tutorials, or behind-the-scenes clips, to deepen audience connections.
• Trend Monitoring and Real-Time Engagement: Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring social media trends, viral challenges, and platform updates. Incorporate these into content strategies to keep posts fresh, relevant, and culturally attuned to the community's interests.
• Social Media Calendar Management: Collaborate with marketing, editorial, and creative teams to develop a comprehensive, results-driven content calendar. Schedule posts strategically to align with broader campaigns, product launches, and seasonal moments, ensuring consistency and engagement across all platforms.
• Community Engagement: Actively engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely, personable, and brand-appropriate manner. Use interactions to build community and trust while addressing questions, concerns, or feedback.
• Audience Growth and Retention: Implement strategies to grow followers organically, such as running contests, polls, or interactive campaigns. Foster retention by nurturing a loyal fanbase through regular interaction, exclusive content, and personalized replies.
E-commerce Support
Maintain and Optimize Our Online Shop (Shopify):
• Support the e-commerce team by updating and maintaining product listings, ensuring all product information (titles, descriptions, images, pricing) is accurate and compelling.
• Assist in inventory management, coordinating with relevant teams to track stock levels and update product availability promptly.
• Troubleshoot basic customer inquiries related to the online shop, escalating more complex issues to the appropriate team members when necessary.
• Review the online shop regularly for technical or usability issues to ensure a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience for customers.
Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams to Create Individual PDPs (Product Detail Pages):
• Work closely with marketing, design, and product teams to gather necessary information and assets for new product launches.
• Assist in formatting and uploading product details, images, and other relevant content to ensure PDPs are visually appealing and align with brand standards.
• Ensure new PDPs are optimized for SEO by incorporating keywords and following guidelines provided by the team.
• Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the clarity and impact of product pages based on user feedback or competitor analysis.
Track and Analyze E-Commerce Performance Metrics to Identify Growth Opportunities:
• Assist in collecting and organizing data from e-commerce platforms, such as sales reports, traffic data, and conversion rates.
• Prepare basic performance reports with visual aids (charts or graphs) to share key insights with the e-commerce team.
• Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and propose actionable recommendations for improving metrics, such as product bundling, promotions, or updated page layouts.
• Support the team in implementing A/B tests or other experiments aimed at improving the online shopping experience and driving sales.
• Campaign Development and Reporting
• Digital Marketing Campaign Execution: Assist in the planning, creating, and executing of multi-channel digital marketing campaigns, including email newsletters, blog posts, social media promotions, and paid advertising. Collaborate with the team to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment with broader marketing objectives.
• Email Marketing Optimization: Work on crafting compelling email campaigns to inform, engage, and convert subscribers. Focus on improving open rates, click-through rates, and overall campaign performance through A/B testing, segmentation, and data-driven insights.
• Content Strategy and Creation: Contribute to developing content calendars and ensure timely delivery of campaign assets. Create engaging blog posts, landing pages, and promotional copy to support campaigns and drive traffic to our platforms.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with internal teams-such as editorial, e-commerce, and community management-to align campaign efforts with company goals, product launches, and seasonal initiatives.
• Performance Tracking and Analysis: Regularly monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics (KPIs) across all channels, including email, social media, web traffic, and sales. Generate detailed reports on campaign outcomes and identify trends to inform future strategies.
• Continuous Improvement: Use insights from campaign data to optimize creative assets, targeting strategies, and messaging. Share learnings and best practices with the team to improve the effectiveness of future campaigns.
• Innovative Campaign Ideas: Ideate and pitch creative concepts for marketing campaigns that resonate with our audience, such as themed promotions, limited time offers, or collaborations with influencers and brand partners. Present proposals with clear objectives, audience insights, and expected outcomes.
• Trend Monitoring and Adaptation: Stay up to date with the latest trends in digital marketing, audience behavior, and industry developments. Incorporate innovative techniques and tools into campaigns to maintain a competitive edge.
Community Engagement and Audience Development
• Event Organization and Promotion: Collaborate with internal teams to plan, organize, and promote events that resonate with our fanbase, such as ComicCon appearances, virtual fan meetups, live streams, and Q&A sessions with creators.
• Audience Growth Initiatives: Identify and execute opportunities to attract new audience segments through targeted outreach, partnerships, and tailored events that introduce our brand to wider communities.
• Fan Relationship Building: Actively engage with customers and fans on social media and other platforms to foster meaningful and lasting relationships. Respond thoughtfully to messages, comments, and inquiries, creating a welcoming and inclusive community space.
