Sports Reporter
Reporters are Laredo Morning Times services the community by providing the most up-to-date and informative content we can. Ideal candidates should be passionate about journalism, have excellent writing ability, and be strong editors. Applicants should be in inquisitive about good observation, deduction, and investigative skills while being able to handle strict deadlines and write compelling stories in AP style.
Responsibilities
• Write and format stories for our newspaper online site.
• Conduct research on assigned reporting groups.
• Building working relationships with the community.
• Build a social media presence by posting content and engaging with the audience.
• Take photos, edit phones and videos for stories.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• At least one year of experience is preferred but recent graduates with experience. through internships or their student newspapers are encouraged to apply.
• Ideal candidates should be curious, determined, organized, and driven.
