Social Video Intern - Spring 2023

Job description: The San Francisco Chronicle is looking for a spring 2023 intern to join our team of digital producers and audience editors. In this paid, 6- to-12-week spring internship, you will create social video and native-for-social-media content, in close collaboration with our cross-functional audience team.

All students or recent students are encouraged to apply. This internship can have a flexible schedule: it can be full-time, or part-time for students who are enrolled in classes. It is also remote-work friendly.

Duties:
• Receive training and mentoring from audience editors.

• Produce social media videos using assets and stories published on SFChronicle.com, for a variety of platforms from Instagram to Facebook to TikTok.

What we're looking for:

Overall : Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with content ranging from breaking news to food guides to sports. Interest in audience engagement work, especially social media strategy and digital-first content.

Multimedia skills : Video and photo editing experience, plus established interest in creating graphics, photo or video content for social media.

Newsroom experience: Strong college publication experience or previous internships preferred, but not required.
