Job Title: Local News Producer

Job Description:
WPTZ NBC5, a Hearst-owned NBC affiliate in the Burlington, VT/Plattsburgh, NY market, is looking for a Local News Producer who can create dynamic and fast-paced newscasts. The producer will play a key role in the newsroom, working alongside award-winning journalists to tell engaging local stories. The successful candidate will be responsible for selecting, researching, and writing content for live newscasts, building graphics, and shaping how stories are presented.
Responsibilities:
• Select and write content for live newscasts, creating an engaging experience for viewers.
• Build graphics and enhance story presentation.
• Guide reporters through story production and clearly communicate the newscast vision to the team.
• Collaborate with anchors, reporters, meteorologists, photographers, editors, and production staff to execute the creative vision.
• Edit video and contribute to digital platforms.
• In-person attendance is required.
Requirements:
• Creative presentation style with the ability to showcase all resources.
• Experience in a newsroom environment, proficiency in ENPS is a plus.
• Strong writing, spelling, grammar, and copy-editing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple crews and tasks simultaneously.
• Professional or college producing experience.
• Must uphold journalistic integrity and ethical standards.
