Job Summary
Position: Production Lighting Engineer
Job Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Flexible, nights and weekends
Salary: Hourly
THE ROLE
A Production Lighting Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the success of show and event productions by performing the technical aspects related to the show(s) production, assist in all aspects of stage operations, assist in all on-site lighting operations, while providing excellent, professional service.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
• Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through your work area during shift
• Follow House of Blues safety, health, and sanitation standards
• Assist other employees as needed
• Follow opening and closing procedures, checking out with manager on duty
• Adhere to all HOB policies and procedures
• Required to occasionally work special events scheduled within the venue
• Perform the load-in, set up and load-out of band, event, and/or rental equipment
• Focus lighting adjustments to artist or event specifications
• Spotlight operations/lighting control boards operation and programming
• Maintenance and repair of lighting equipment
• Assist with production throughout the house as needed
• Accommodate artist and/or event A/V requirements
• Responsible for safe and consistent operation of lighting
• Assist with the technical advance with artists' representatives
• Ensure proper care and handling of all HOBE and rental lighting & A/V equipment
• Interact with visiting production crews to ensure a successful show
• Distribute or create lighting plot plans
• Oversee and operate systems pertaining to lighting throughout the entire event
• Assist audio crew with stands, microphones, cables, etc.
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
Required:
• Applicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa

• Teamwork; work well with others, in a high-volume and sometimes stressful environment
• Keep a clean, well-groomed appearance
• Punctual attendance with a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
• Tolerance of all cultures, music, and art forms
• 3 years minimum tour or stage production experience
• Experience in stage lighting, pro audio systems, and basic video systems
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency with all Microsoft applications
• Must possess superior interpersonal communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
• College degree
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
• Willing to commute to downtown area (discounted parking available daily)
• Working environment is fast-paced, can be hot, and/or loud
• Position requires extended periods of prolonged standing and/or working on your feet
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. using proper lifting techniques (load-in and load-out)
