THE ROLE
A Production Stagehand will be responsible for ensuring the success of show and event production by performing the technical aspects required.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
• Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through your work area during shift
• Follow House of Blues safety, health, and sanitation standards
• Assist other employees as needed
• Follow opening and closing procedures, checking out with manager on duty
• Adhere to all HOB policies and procedures
• Performs the load-in & out of band equipment and rental equipment
• Band set changes
• Ensure that members of the band(s) have required items needed to perform the show(s)
• Responsible for communicating the details of the evening's event to production crew
• Responsible for hanging show banners, updating marquees and other signage in the venue
• Assist lighting & audio crew as directed by Stage Manager or PM; Spotlight operation if required
• Maintenance and repair of sound, light and stage equipment
• Maintain and secure House backline, and supplies
• Maintain curtains, drapes, risers, and other staging items
• Operate and care for stage areas in a safe, clean manner
• Assist with any special events operations, as needed
• Ensure stage area and loading dock are free from debris
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
Required:
• Applicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa
• Attention to detail

• Teamwork; work well with others, in a high-volume and sometimes stressful environment
• Keep a clean, well-groomed appearance
• Punctual attendance with a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
• Tolerance of all cultures, music, and art forms
• 3 years minimum production experience
• Experience in stage lighting, pro audio systems and basic video systems
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Must possess interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• High School diploma
Preferred:
• College degree or equivalent
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
• Willing to commute to downtown area (discounted $7 parking available daily)
• Working environment is fast paced, can be hot, and/or loud
• Position requires extended periods of prolonged standing and/or working on your feet
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
