Job Summary:
The Content Director will lead the creative, video, and photography departments, overseeing content production across digital and outbound platforms. This role requires managing production schedules, strategizing content creation with internal teams, and delivering performance metrics to stakeholders. The position is a key contributor to the Astros' long-term creative and content strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with internal stakeholders to create engaging content that drives fan engagement and revenue.
• Lead creative, video, and photography teams to develop innovative content ideas.
• Track and report content productivity and performance metrics regularly.
• Stay updated on content trends and best practices, sharing insights with the team.
• Collaborate with the media team to optimize content for social platforms and drive fan engagement.
• Develop and implement the annual strategic content plan, integrating it with the overall marketing strategy.
• Manage the content department's budget and reconcile monthly expenses.
• Provide content solutions across the Astros portfolio, including affiliates and the Foundation.
• Oversee production equipment needs and manage content contract labor.
• Ensure in-game and broadcast content needs are met.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience, preferably in sports or entertainment.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, digital content platforms, and social media.
• Experience in content production and post-production workflows.
• Proven ability to manage and develop a creative team.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
• Experience in budget management and strategic business planning.
• Knowledge of Astros baseball is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position will manage a team, providing guidance and career development.
Work Environment:
Office setting with moderate noise levels, occasionally loud in stadium environments.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to talk or hear regularly and lift up to 40 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close and focused vision.
