Job Summary:
The Social Media Coordinator will assist in the day-to-day execution of all social media campaigns for the Houston Astros, helping to drive fan engagement and distribute content across various social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, and emerging channels. This role supports the game day experience and contributes to the team’s overall social media strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage daily content across all Houston Astros social media accounts, including Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
• Maintain the monthly posting calendar for Astros social channels and Houston Open.
• Collaborate with the content team to plan and create social media graphics, video, and photo content.
• Provide live game coverage on social media platforms during Astros games.
• Identify and engage with trending topics and conversations relevant to the team.
• Collaborate with PR and Communications departments to share club news and press releases on social media.
• Track content performance using analytics tools and generate weekly and monthly reports.
• Support social media efforts for partnerships, ticketing, retail, and special events.
• Monitor fan interactions via social listening tools to enhance engagement.
Qualifications:
• 1+ years of social media experience, ideally in sports or entertainment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms.
• Basic proficiency in Photoshop for photo editing and knowledge of Adobe Premiere is preferred.
• Ability to think creatively and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
Work Environment:
The role operates primarily in an office setting but can include on-site work at the stadium. Noise levels may vary, and the position requires close and focused vision.
