Intern - Legal

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

Los Angeles-based Internet Brands, Inc. is currently seeking a bright, organized self-starter for an externship in its fast-paced, in-house legal department. It's a unique opportunity for exposure to corporate, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, licensing, and litigation in a one of the largest Internet media companies in the nation. Internet Brands owns 250 leading website businesses.

Responsibilities:
-Contribute to the organization and distribution of transaction M&A due diligence materials.
-Support review and analysis of material contracts in asset acquisition deals and other commercial contracts.
-Assemble materials for and assist with copyright and trademark filings.
-Assist in management of the company's contract management system.
-Support litigation discovery process; conduct research as needed.
-Assist in the protection of the company's intellectual property.
-Draft responses to website complaints (for instance, cease and desist correspondence).
-Research Internet and new media law issues as needed, including developments in privacy law, and write memos as needed.
-Special projects as assigned.

Requirements:
-In progress with 3L coursework
-Internet experience
-Highly organized over-achiever with a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude.
-Exceptional organizational skills and uncompromising attention to detail.
-Strong research and writing skills
-Dedicated team player with keen sense of humor.
-Database and Excel skills are a plus.
-Must be proficient in Word and Outlook.

This is a part-time, unpaid externship for school credit in our El Segundo headquarters.
