Position Summary:
Jesse Collins Entertainment (JCE) is seeking a Manager, Development - Specials to provide hands-on executional support for the development of high-profile specials and event programming across various platforms. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, highly organized professional who can take concepts from ideation to pitch-ready materials, ensuring seamless workflow and execution.
This person will work closely with the SVP, Specials, and cross-functional teams to coordinate pitch decks, sizzle reels, research, and development tracking. The Manager should be proactive, able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced creative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Execution & Support:
• Take a leading role in brainstorming and conceptualizing new specials, bringing fresh ideas to the SVP, Specials.
• Assist in developing new specials and event-based content, including tentpole JCE specials, by coordinating research, concept refinement, and pitch execution.
• Ensure that pitch materials (decks, one-sheets, treatments, sizzle reels) are polished, aligned with JCE's creative vision, and delivered on schedule.
• Track the status of ongoing development projects, meetings, and network responses in an organized system.
Research & Market Analysis:
• Conduct in-depth content research, identifying emerging trends and untapped market opportunities for new specials.
• Monitor competitor programming, awards shows, and industry trends to identify white space opportunities.
• Stay current on emerging talent, producers, and creative collaborators who could be a fit for upcoming projects.
Talent & Industry Coordination:
• Maintain and update a database of talent, hosts, directors, and performers relevant to JCE's programming.
• Support talent outreach and coordination for pitch meetings and development discussions.
• Work closely with the talent, production, and business affairs teams to ensure smooth communication across departments.
Pitch Preparation & Execution:
• Play a hands-on role in crafting, structuring, and refining pitch presentations, ensuring compelling storytelling.
• Assist in scheduling and preparing materials for network, streamer, and brand partner pitches.
• Help organize and track meetings with buyers and ensure follow-ups are handled efficiently.
• Coordinate with editors and graphics teams to refine sizzle reels and presentation materials.
Qualifications & Experience:
• 3-5 years of experience in television development, event programming, or entertainment production.
• Strong understanding of specials, awards shows, music tributes, cultural programming, and large-scale event productions.
• Proficiency in Keynote, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign preferred) for deck creation.
• Basic video editing skills (i.e., Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) are a plus for sizzle reels.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• Passion for entertainment, culture, and storytelling.
• Experience coordinating talent, production teams, and industry executives is a plus.
