Kansas City Royals Trainee Program
The Kansas City Royals Trainee Program is designed for applicants interested in the sports and entertainment industry, particularly professional sports. The Royals are seeking applicants with various backgrounds, educations, and experiences to create a valuable community of learning opportunities from front office staff as well as from one another. The Trainee Program intends to cultivate a network of young professionals dedicated to developing their career and supporting the careers of those around them.
Job Summary: Position is responsible for assisting the Sr. Director of Event Presentation & Production/Fan Engagement, Director of Event Presentation and Coordinator of Event Presentation with administrative duties. In addition, this position will assist the Event Presentation & Production (EPP) Department with all elements executed and implemented during Royals' home games and events, as well as other duties as assigned by the Sr. Director.
Accountabilities:
• Create PA Book(s) and packets for each home game
• Assist with production of Royals Countdown (our pre-game show)
• Assist managing in-stadium host(s)
• Assist with coordinating the execution of pre-game ceremonies and in-game promotions
• Assist and help manage the Royals KCrew and Game Crew
• Coordinate staffing needs for KCrew and Game Crew
• Manage department's ticket requests
• Oversee fulfillment of gameday props and needs for KCrew and Game Crew
• Assist with department events and functions (i.e. FanFest, KCrew Auditions, Royals Fans Got Talent, End of Season Party, etc.)
• General office duties
• Other duties as assigned by Sr. Director
Requirements:
• One year commitment (November 1, 2021 - October 31, 2022)
• Self-starter, pro-active & must be highly motivated
• Passion for sports and entertainment industry
• Ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously & meet deadlines
• Excellent organization, writing & communication skills
• Detail oriented
• Computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Power Point)
• Understanding of social media (Instagram, Twitter & TikTok)
• Able to work flexible hours including holidays, evenings & weekends
