Katz Public Relations is a boutique Los Angeles-based Entertainment PR Agency seeking a motivated self-starter to join our small yet hardworking team as an intern for Spring Semester 2025. The internship will be part-time as well as occasional evening/weekend events throughout Los Angeles. Ideal candidate must have great communication skills and be able to multitask in a deadline driven environment.
This internship will be in-person work in West Hollywood, CA
INTERNSHIP DUTIES:
• Researching/Finding new media outlets and contacts and using the database MuckRack
• Writing bios, press releases and pitches
• Assist with pitching clients to press outlets and events
• Assist with locating and communicating with international and domestic media outlets
• Covering events: red carpet, fittings, photo shoots, interviews, gifting suites, etc.
• Social Media: Updating our Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook on a day to day basis
• Updating and compiling press clippings/Press Kits
-Administrative support to the CEO and Chief Operating Officer including assisting with managing office calendar
• Other office duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate should be thick-skinned and able to take constructive criticism. They should have an outgoing personality, fun attitude and great work ethic. We are seeking someone who is passionate about learning or becoming an entertainment publicist. Our agency works hands on with entertainment/talent.
Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or Media-related majors or experience preferred. A bi-weekly stipend is provided for this position but preference will be given to candidates who can use it for college credit.
MUST have own reliable transportation and MUST be local to Los Angeles from early January through May 2025.
MUST have working laptop and cell phone. (Mac and iPhone preferred but NOT required.)
MUST be available to work 3 days per week from 10:00 am-6:00 pm as well as nights and weekends for event coverage as needed.
MUST understand that Public Relations is not a 9-5 job and some additional hours during the week may be required.
MUST have good, communication, writing, phone, and computer skills!
MUST have good phone etiquette and take direction well. Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) required.
Previous public relations and red carpet experience a plus!
MUST be able to work independently both in and outside of the office environment.
We are looking for someone who is committed, passionate, and willing to learn!
