News Producer – Job Description
Location: KDVR/KWGN, Denver, CO
Salary Range: $25.00 - $29.00/hr (based on experience)

Job Summary:
KDVR/KWGN is seeking a creative, driven News Producer with at least 4 years of producing experience. The successful candidate will produce compelling newscasts and integrate digital platforms into their work. A Bachelor's degree is required.

Key Responsibilities:
• Produce engaging and memorable newscasts with creative headlines and teases.
• Maintain knowledge of current events, local issues, and community contacts.
• Source materials from wire services, network feeds, websites, and social media for newscasts.
• Collaborate with news staff to build graphics and work with directors and anchors to present stories effectively.
• Write and post stories for the station’s website and social media platforms.
• Make quick decisions and adjust to last-minute changes during live broadcasts.
• Train and mentor less experienced staff, guiding them to achieve desired results.

Essential Skills & Abilities:
• Proficiency with newsroom and web posting software.
• Strong research and digital engagement skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and make accurate on-air decisions.
• Leadership capabilities and the ability to foster a positive team environment.
