ROLE: Responsible for managing a local team of Account Executives (AEs) and overseeing all sales activity for the National Sales Office (NSO). This role involves daily interaction with National AEs and Buyers to optimize our share of national linear and digital revenue while maintaining positive working relationships. Additionally, overseeing all Political business for both stations falls within the responsibilities of this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Accountable for meeting local and national targeted financial budget and market share goals, including linear, digital, and sponsorships.
• Monitors the performance of the NSO through ongoing evaluation of various areas including billing growth, share increase, success in selling sports, specials, pre- and post-sell efforts, and attention to buyers' and stations' needs, providing guidance on strategy and pricing.
• Assists NSO in preparing sales presentations for major sports events and specials.
• Oversees the Paid, Political, and Programmatic efforts for the station.
• Monitors inventory and works with NSO to provide guidance on rate structure and packaging.
• Develops and maintains direct relationships with agencies and clients to build station reputation and connections.
• Supervises National Sales Assistant and works closely with them on daily priorities.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in marketing or equivalent related experience. Minimum five years' experience in television sales with three or more years in a major market.
• Requires analytical and technical skills to effectively package, price, and sell available airtime.
• Requires demonstrable knowledge of sales, research, and agency operations to train, motivate, direct, and evaluate the performance of NSO staff. Requires thorough knowledge of the ratings and strategies of each station and competing rep firms in the national markets.
• Effective oral and written skills to communicate, negotiate, and influence internal and external contacts.
• Requires the ability to analyze the market, set rates, and direct national sales activity to meet established financial goals and market share. Requires the ability to effectively direct and influence national sales activity to achieve the best performance for the station.
• Thinks strategically and acts tactically.
• Analyzes issues thoroughly to make sound business decisions and solve problems.
• Takes initiative and makes decisions without daily guidance.
• Works in a fast-paced environment and able to handle multiple challenges simultaneously.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with Nielsen, ComScore, WideOrbit, or similar systems preferred. Knowledge of Wide Orbit Traffic and Media Sales a plus.

• Compensation - $193K-$204K commensurate with experience and skill level
