PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Head Equipment Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of team and player equipment. This role involves managing the maintenance, organization, and administration of athletic gear, coordinating the setup and use of practice and game spaces, and providing support for the overall needs of players, coaches, and the Las Vegas Aces organization.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for overseeing the management and maintenance of team equipment, including uniforms, shoes, and gear
• Determines needs and generates purchase orders to acquire athletic and sports equipment
• Monitors the equipment budget and tracks related expenses
• Establishes and maintains uniform and equipment inventories, while ensuring the accurate reconciliation and upkeep of all inventory records for the program
• Oversees uniform and equipment distribution and retrieval at practices and on game day
• Ensures that all uniforms and related apparel and equipment are maintained in a clean and serviceable condition
• Coordinates and manages all game day equipment preparations, ensuring proper setup for each game
• Assists visiting teams with their game day and practice requirements
• Prepares team and staff locker rooms, as well as equipment, for practices and games at home and away
• Collaborates closely with players, agents, and brand suppliers to fulfill the players' equipment needs and preferences
• Works with both players and coaches to ensure equipment aligns with their requirements and league requirements
• Manages the laundry and cleaning of team uniforms and equipment
• Coordinates with visiting teams to ensure they have the necessary equipment for practices and games
• Assists with general tasks related to travel days
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• 3 years of professional sports experience directly related to the specific duties and responsibilities
• Bachelor's degree in an applicable field
• Prior experience working with professional athletes is essential
• Position requires flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the team's schedule
• Ability to travel with the team for away games
• Moderate physical activity required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Proficient in ordering supplies, equipment, and managing inventory control
• Familiar with team purchasing procedures and travel logistics
• Knowledgeable in the repair of athletic gear, supplies, and uniforms
• Skilled in organization, administration, and direct communication
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure professional sports environment
