PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The media relations manager is responsible for assisting in the coordination of game day media operations, developing and maintaining relationships with local and national media outlets, possessing strong writing skills, handling sensitive information, strategic and creative problem-solving and the ability to maintain a positive outlook while working gracefully under pressure. This candidate will be expected to work nights and weekends as needed based on the team's schedule and other organizational events, as well as the ability to travel with the team as assigned.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with the execution of media relations plans including, but not limited to: news pitches to local, state, regional and national media; writing releases, feature stories and game recaps; updating game notes
• Assist in coordinating media interviews for players, coaches, front office staff and other team personnel
• Develop relationships with sports and entertainment outlets locally, regionally and nationally
• Manage incoming media requests
• Coordinate game day media opportunities and requests
• Update and maintain media databases
• Manage media opportunities for select events
• Collect and disseminate team and league-wide media clips
• Update the Aces website as needed
• Serve as team liaison on select road trips
• Oversee the coordination and distribution of credentials for internal staff, media, officials, statisticians and other personnel and vendors for all home games
• Assist in all game day media operations (in-game statistical updates, credentialing, set-up, and breakdown of press conferences, assisting with pre/post-game press conference and post-game notes)
• Assist visiting team PR representatives with their various game day needs
• Prolonged standing, walking, and extended work hours
• Must be available to attend all home games for the Las Vegas Aces as well as attend most community events. Games & events may take place on nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred
• Three years minimum experience in public relations, sports media relations or an equivalent field
• Knowledge of AP Style
• Experience pitching to the media
• Strong knowledge of and experience in the flow of game day events
• Proficient with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom Technologies
• Work is performed in the office and/or at one of the arenas. Must be available to attend all home games as well as attend Aces events as needed
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
• Valid driver's license

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written
• Well organized with a meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively across departments
