Summary of Position:
Legendary is looking for an intern to assist the Features Creative team. This internship will give you first hand experience in reading and evaluating scripts, in addition to writing coverage. This is a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of film development and production. Candidates must be hardworking self-starters, who are intelligent, personable, and creative with a base knowledge of and passion for film, diverse storytelling, culturally relevant content, talent and the entertainment industry. In addition to working closely with the executives and members of the team, interns will have the opportunity to attend guest speaker sessions, networking events and screenings. This is a paid, in-person internship.
Responsibilities:
• Heavy script and book reading.
• Complete coverage on incoming projects, summarizing the story and commenting on if it’s a project worth pursuing.
• Aid in the curating and updating master writer, actor and director lists for internal use as well as assisting with compiling and providing input on various internal creative grids and lists.(ex: books, comics, video games, recent and classic films and TV shows, pop culture, culturally relevant content etc).
• Assist with research projects into properties that are being pursued for possible feature adaptations.
• Light office duties.
• Supports special projects as needed.
Experience & Skills:
• Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (Spring/Summer) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within the past six (6) months
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
